How to see the glass half full, and drink from The Well of life: How to start living a positive life.

  I'm sure everyone has heard the expression “Try and see the world as a glass half full.” Or maybe you like to see the world as a glass half empty. Many people do it's easier to be pessimistic than optimistic, no question about it. Well, today dear reader, we are going to discuss simple ways to  drink from The Well of life, and develop a more positive and optimistic outlook;That will hopefully help you dear reader, to navigate through the universe spreading positivity and Goodwill wherever you go. While at the same time helping you to live the best life possible.

There are plenty of books and websites out there, that try to explain how to live a more positive, optimistic life. However, most of those websites make it sound far easier than it actually is. A positive mindset is something that has to be cultivated over weeks to months and even years. It doesn't just happen overnight or because you spend 15 minutes on a website, or you read a few chapters in a book. Developing an optimistic Outlook takes a lot of work and effort,  which is why numerous people in the universe are pessimistic, it is far easier to be a pessimist than it is to be an optimist. This is also why genuinely optimistic people should be treasured and appreciated. As more often than not, genuinely optimistic people are a source of Hope and inspiration, whether they know it or not.

As I have previously stated, becoming an optimistic glass half full kind of person doesn't happen overnight, it is going to take a lot of work and dedication on your part dear reader. However, if you manage to accomplish the goal of being a more optimistic individual. You will become yet another source of Hope and inspiration for the universe.

 Although it may be hard initially, there are four simple steps you can take to start  drinking deeply from The Well of life, and walking on the optimistic path through the universe.

The first step on the road to optimism is: taking control of your mindset!  Make a conscious decision make a conscious decision to change your personal outlook to change your personal Prospective on life and the universe. A good example of this, would be waking up on Mondays. After enjoying a nice relaxing weekend at home watching the baseball game, spending time with the family or taking part in a favorite hobby;You dread waking up on Monday and starting your day of going to work. This is because you have conditioned yourself over time to view Mondays and going to work as a bad thing. You have told yourself do you reader that waking up groggy, and grumpy is a normal reaction to Mondays; so being groggy and grumpy becomes your normal reaction to Mondays. Instead, when you wake up on Monday, and realize you have to go to work. Try thinking of something positive about Monday, such as going for a walk in the park on your lunch break, or How good that first sip of coffee is going to taste. It doesn't have to be a big positive thought, dear reader (at least not to start with) Something small and achievable to start your day is just fine. The point of the exercise is to slowly begin to develop a positive mindset, starting with one small thing that will be positive about your day. Every morning when you wake up for a week and then add another positive thing and so on. Eventually, you will wake up every morning with a positive outlook.

The second thing you have to learn to do, dear reader, is to use positive words:  this may sound silly to start with, but it actually works. Part of the problem people have with being optimistic, is they use negative words to describe their situation. If you make a conscious decision to change your vocabulary from negative words to positive words daily; it will go a long way to improving your outlook on life. For instance, instead of starting a sentence with “I can't.” Try starting it with” I can” And then think of all the positive reasons why you can do something or why it will work. If you start  as many sentences as possible with a positive outlook, whether talking to a co-worker or a friend or even your boss eventually; dear reader, these positive thoughts and attitude will lead you to living a more optimistic life.

The third thing required for seeing the world as a glass half full, dear reader, is to Simply focus on what matters most in life. The truth is, dear reader, contrary to popular belief, we shouldn't care about everything all the time. These days, social media puts so many things in front of us, that the world says we need to care about; The truth is, dear reader, we don't need to  care about most of the things the world bombards us with daily.  The things we should care about your reader are most likely deeply personal, so just spending more time with family, and seeing more of the world or even something as simple as reading more quality books. Focusing on what's important to you, dear reader, will lead to a more optimistic outlook.

The fourth step to being more positive and optimistic, is learning to say no;

This may seem counterintuitive because saying” no” Is often seen as a negative because you feel as though you are giving something up. Usually, when we say no, we only think about the opportunity we are losing, but we don't think about the opportunity we are gaining. Saying no to working late May mean that you can spend some extra time with your loved ones. So learn to say no. It may lead to something good.

  1. Great ideas. Especially the one about learning to say No! It took me a long time in my life before I easily could and would say No. It's very freeing.
