How to live a life of mindfulness, and be an open-minded person

  Hello again dear reader,


Recently, I was having a philosophical discussion with a good friend of mine, over a cup of coffee.  We were discussing the fact that the world these days seems very close-minded or at least very narrow-minded. Particularly when it comes to politics and other personal belief structures.  My friend kept saying how she wished the world would learn to be open-minded, and live in the moment and enjoy life; Rather than, worrying about big picture issues that most of us can't control, or trying to force their beliefs on other people.  She kept talking about, the fact that if everyone would learn to live happily within their sphere of influence, and worry about their family and close friends, and the things that they can control. While still being open-minded enough to realize that individuality is what makes the world function, and we shouldn't judge people because of their life choices or belief structures. Everyone could get along a lot more easily. So, today dear reader, I thought we would discuss how to live a life of mindfulness and being an open-minded individual. So that hopefully, dear reader, by the end of this article. You will have a more profound understanding of mindfulness, and how to be an open-minded person and thereby help to make the world a better place in some small way.

  1. So many valuable suggestions. I remember a program that my university offered, entitled Walk In My Shoes. It taught empathy and compassion and acceptance. And it taught why not to judge, but to be mindful of ourselves and others.
